Daily Transcription Now Accepts Linear Time Code MP3, WAV & BWF

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 22, 2011

The Post Production Transcription Services Industry now has a tool that produces digitally compressed audio files with LTC timecodes, saving hours on post production processes from start to finish.????By working with these files natively, it is possible to significantly streamline the work flow post process. It is a standard audio mixer in addition to traditional auxiliary high-res audio files, providing on-the-fly mp3s with LTC time code on the left channel. This creates an mp3 clip while shooting, as with Avid from a tape source with a frame accurate timecode track. The remarkable thing is: the file is so small the data can be uploaded to the transcription house from any standard Wi-Fi /cell phone data connection from a laptop on set in minutes.

Sound Devices 552 Production Mixer produces real time WAV, BWF & MP3s with LTC (Linear Time Code) recorded to an audio channel. Using sophisticated transcription software, Daily Transcription is able to decipher the analog time code track in the file giving the transcriber a way to read frame accurate time codes. This feature caters to the time sensitive demands of transcribing reality TV shows, news, commercials, documentaries Focus Group transcription and seeking expeditious, professional transcription services. Daily transcription possesses both the industry experience and complex infrastructure needed to meet the requirements of professionals working on multiple set deadlines.

The real savings come at the Post Production facility. The normal turnaround time from shooting to sending files to transcription houses is about four hours for every hour of footage recorded. Using the 552 Production Mixer allows for almost on-the-fly transcription to begin while shooting; sound Mixers can literally send MP3 audio files to Daily Transcription from the shoot without having to go back to the Post Production facility to digitize, create string outs and convert into compressed proxy files for the As-Broadcast script. Not only does this save on travel time from the set to the post house when there is a time constraint, there is no digitizing needed for transcription purposes either, and best of all, no more doing output of QuickTime/Mpg4/H2.64 etc. files with window burn either. The post-process saving is tenfold, and the mixer itself is reasonably priced or for rent in the market.

Aside from the substantial cost savings of an average of $ 35 to $ 50 per hour, more importantly, a significant amount of time is recovered from the entire process, 5 to 1 savings for every hour of transcription and every Post Supervisor knows time is an incredibly precious commodity. Daily Transcription decided to invest in the software that allows deciphering of the MP3s because we see more and more producers with tight budgets and specific production requirements. In this industry, time is literally money and Daily Transcription feels their investment will help our clients and themselves to become even more efficient and responsive to today?s ever changing production needs.
